Thanks Lighthouse. Jason was very professional, and I really appreciated the level of detail in the report. It’s sad that I had to resort to having to get an independent, unbiased opinion from an engineering company; however, I look at it this way. I paid $450 but ended up saving over $12,500 or more for unnecessary foundation work and, more importantly, feel like I have peace of mind. It’s regrettable that even supposedly well-known foundation companies who are also on Angie’s list would tell me that I needed 25 piers to repair foundation problems. I had estimates from 6 companies: 4 said yes major foundation problems and 2 said nothing needed. Actually, the two that said nothing needed were random and not on Angie’s List. The most disturbing was a well-known company around since 1962. It makes you question who you can trust in the foundation industry.

I figure you guys can be trusted since you have nothing to gain by recommending repairs that are not needed!

Jason Conklin was our Engineer; he arrived a little early, which was perfect. Explained what he does and what he would be doing. We walked around and I explained our concerns. Most of our problems were showing up interiorly. He began surveying while explaining everything he saw. He took his time; after he finished measuring he sat down and explained it all thoroughly. We do have foundation issues in need of repair, he recommended numerous companies. Offered to email his survey to them, which he did the following day. Received estimates from them all the following day. Jason was very honest, and extremely nice. I would recommend him to anyone needing an honest report on structural or foundation issues.
